COCONUT MILK & CREAM PREPARATION


1 : Crack Open the Coconut
Use a hammer or a heavy knife to crack the coconut open. Drain the coconut water into a bowl.


2 : Remove the Coconut Flesh
Use a knife or spoon to pry the white flesh from the shell. Rinse off any remaining brown skin.


3 : Blend the Coconut
Chop the coconut flesh into small pieces. Blend it with 2 cups of warm water until smooth and creamy.


4 : Strain & Store
Strain the mixture through cheesecloth. Squeeze to extract coconut milk and transfer to an airtight container.
Chill the coconut milk in the refrigerator for a minimum of 12-24 hours to enable separation. Once cooled, the thick coconut cream will rise to the surface, while the coconut water will settle at the bottom. Gently scoop the solidified coconut cream with a spoon and transfer it into an airtight container.
